We have a message for him – Singaporeans mean serious business in this GE! This is seen in Singaporeans' enthusiasm with our game to identify The Weakest Link in every GRC contested by the PAP. And the numbers don't lie.

Just a week after the launch of our no-budget, no frills, no audio, no video and no publicity blog game-site, we breached the 10,000 pageviews mark, all thanks to word-of-mouth promotion by concerned Singaporeans.

28 April – the day after the nominations, the start of Singapore’s biggest election battles in history. 82 seats will be contested, with only Tanjong Pagar having a walkover.

The Marine Parade GRC could be set up for a tight fight. As of midnight (Singapore time) 27 April, Tin Pei Ling has lived up to form and expectations, seizing an unassailable lead on her GRC-mates, and everyone else, in our The Weakest Link contest. She has even garnered more votes as an individual, than entire teams from several GRCs. Because of the “Tin Pei Ling effect”, more people have voted in our game for candidates in the Marine Parade GRC than any other GRC.

Other hot-spot GRCs in our game so far are Holland-Bukit Timah, Bishan Toa-Payoh and Aljunied – all challenged in the actual elections by “Team A’s” from the SDP, SPP and WP respectively.

A host of new PAP candidates are receiving strong mandates as The Weakest Link,  including Foo Mee Har, Chan Chun Sing and Janil Puthucheary. Not to be outdone, “virgin ministers” - those became Cabinet appointment holders without ever winning a single vote, Vivian Balakrishnan, Ng Eng Hen, Lim Swee Say and Lui Tuck Yew are also topping their respective GRCs. This confirms Singaporeans’ disdain of the PAP’s abuse of the GRC system to sneak into parliament representatives with no backing of the will of the people.

A handful of candidates such as Zainal Sapari, Gan Thiam Poh, Patrick Tay, Seah Kian Peng and Fatimah Lateef have each received less than 10 votes in our contest so far. Are they truly well-liked, or more likely being shielded from public scrutiny by their worse colleagues. 

We don’t have the answer, but urge Singaporeans to look hard, to look critically at EVERY PAP candidate, and discover they all deserve the chance to be The Weakest Link.
